The Engadin Sommerlauf takes place on 18th and 19th August, when the days in the Engadine are among the most beautiful. The event offers different distances for runners of all levels. You can sign up for the main race, take part in the 11km Muragl race or the Vertical Sommerlauf.
The Engadiner Sommerlauf is the most important running event in Engadine and is suitable for the whole family. In fact, there is also a Kids Race. This is not about winning, but about having fun. All children can also have fun playing in the children’s village with lots of activities.
The main race on Sunday 19 August – over 25 km – starts in Sils and ends in Samedan. The race runs through six blue lakes of the Upper Engadine and is ideal as a preparation for an autumn marathon and deliberately exceeds the half marathon distance.
The Muragl race – 11 km – will start in Pontresina on 19 August and will take you for a stretch in Val Roseg before arriving at Samedan via Celerina. With a unique view of the Roseg glacier, the Muragl-Lauf is the perfect route for those who do not want to run all the 25 km but still want to experience the unique atmosphere of the Engadiner Sommerlauf.
On August 18th there will be the Vertical Summer Run. The route leads through the original race track of the men’s Alpine downhill world championship. The departure is very steep and starts from the village of St. Moritz. It is 5.5 kilometers with about 1000 vertical meter. What could be better than enjoying a beautiful panorama at arrival?
